Piper is just a couple weeks away from her half birthday.
I have to say, month five may have been my favorite so far.
More and more, Piper's personality is shining through.
She's just the neatest little person.
She had her first word a couple weeks ago. Okay, not really.
But she unintentionally said "Moo!"
See for yourself...
Hey peeps, I'm five months.
Count those fingers...
Five. months. old.
What can I say about month five...
A lot.
So, I'm just gonna say it.
Ramblin' style...
Piper loves to smile and giggle.
She loves music just like her Mommy and Daddy.
She loves to be sung to. The goofier the song, the better.
She loves Justin Timberlake. If she is fussy or crying in the car and we put on "Mirrors," she stops the tears almost instantly. It's hilarious.
She loves when Dee Dee sings "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "The Wheels On The Bus" to her.
Piper's legs are amazing. The chub factor is out of control. And I (and everyone else) can't help but
squeeze the ever lovin' out of them. I swear, when I squeeze her thighs, I feel rejuvenated and like I was just zapped with 5,000 pounds of adrenaline.
We can't go anywhere without someone saying "Oh. My. Goodness! Look at those legs!"
Piper loves loves loves the kitties. They have really warmed up to her. They don't feel threatened by her ("the tiny human," as my friend, Kelly, calls her). Piper loves when Twinkie meows and comes close to her. She smirks and coos and tries to rip his fur out. She's already tried to pull his tail once. Twinkie just loves it. Okay, maybe not, but he realizes the nicer he is to her, the more treats Piper Mommy gives to him. So, it's really helped their relationship. ;)
Piper still loves bathtime. She loves to chew on cold washcloths and soak her piggies while I sing to her. She is starting to sit. Sometimes for a few seconds. And sometimes for a couple minutes. It just amazes me.
Piper is getting her top two teeth. I mentioned "Ruthie" in my last post.
Ruthie is her top right tooth - she's startin' to really bust through. And as for her top left...
Her name is Helga. Dee Dee said "Helga" doesn't really flow smoothly with "Herbie, Bernie and Ruthie." But I like it that way.
Some days, those teeth make Piper pretty fussy and clingy.
And others, they don't seem to bother her at all.
Let's hope Miss Helga gets movin' right along.
Piper's sleep schedule is kinda all over the place but still has somewhat of a pattern. I can't complain all too much, because even through all the wake ups, she goes back to bed after being soothed and/or given a "little boob" as I like to call it.
When she's in teething mode, she wakes about every two to three hours. She goes to bed anywhere from 8-9:30 and wakes for the day, anywhere from 6-8:30, depending on bedtime.
Daddy started helpin' Mommy with wake ups now that they're so frequent.
He's actually in the nursery getting her back down right now. I'm watching him from the monitor on my phone and smirking to myself. Pips is givin' him quite the fight.
Piper loves "dippies for Pippy!" What are they, you ask?
A taste (or two or six) of our ice cream or frozen yogurt. Her favorite treat is Yum Yum Yogurt.
She is still exclusively breastfed. But those "dips for Pips" have been more frequent this past month. She also tasted mushy bananas a time or two at Dee Dee's and this past weekend while out to lunch. "Monkey Marino" loves her some bananas. (More on that in another post).
Dee Dee loves feedin' Piper. Dee Dee loves Piper.
The relationship between Piper and my mom is so special.
I love that Piper recognizes my mom and her voice the instant she sees her.
Her face lights up as soon as she lays eyes on her.
Piper had her first overnight stay with Dee Dee last month. I cried in the car for a tiny bit. But I knew she'd be in amazing hands. They had a blast together.
They always have a blast together.
Piper is a travelin' girl. Lil' "Pipsy the Gypsy!" She goes almost everywhere with me. With Daddy and I. And Dee Dee and I. She loves discovering new things and I love watching her people watch when we're out.
Piper's leg rolls are ticklish.
Nibble on them or squeeze them, and she makes the sweetest sound ever.
Okay, I could just keep going.
There's just so stinkin' much I could say.
But that's what other posts are for.
And well,
I think I have plenty of videos and photos that can speak for themselves.
Here's a look into the first eight days of five month
Pippy...
First, some videos...
I'm considering these Piper's "five month photos" -
A Wednesday at the farm with Kelly and Karina made for sweet memories and lots of photo opportunities. It's moments like these that make time just stand still for a bit. I love soaking up every bit of Piper's "firsts."
Piper's first farm visit...
Big thanks to Kelly for many of these pretty pictures.
And thanks to Dee Dee for Piper's pretty, ruffly dress.
And...
Memories from the first week of September...
Piper. I adore you, my little Mooncheekins.
Thank you for being you.
<3
Wishing everyone a wonderful rest of the week!
Hope September has been treatin' you well.
