When You Say Nothing At All

"When You Say Nothing At All" - Alison Krauss

Sometimes, it's nice to get so swept away in a moment that you have no need for words.
We've been having a lot of those moments lately - silent ones that touch us so deeply.
Emotions - spoken loud and clear with just a smile...a look...a touch.

I lay here tonight.  Already in bed.  With Steve asleep next to me.
I look through my photos and let them tug at my heart.

Sometimes, pictures don't tell the whole story.
Sometimes, they demand an explanation.

Sometimes, they do the talking for you.

Today...
many memories and few words.

I found Miss Muffin lounging on the rocking chair the morning after
I wrote my last post(Thank you for all your loving words.)

I'm pretty sure she thinks this is gonna be her new room.  If we had the space, I'd surely dedicate a room all to Muffin.

Sweet mornings from the past week...

A visit from Kerry and smiley Veronica

She clung onto her mango chips all morning.  Chased the kitties up and down the stairs, under the table and behind the couch.  And squealed with delight whenever they'd hang by her side.

Breakfast at Kim's

and at Station B with Kelly and happy man, Daxon

and at home with the Mr.

Celebrating my brother, Nicholas', 26th birthday with friends and family

Presents, pumpkin roll, hot chocolate and late night entertainment through telling old stories
 at my mom's afterwards.

.
Last month, my friend, Kim, and I made plans to take her fall family photos.  So yesterday, we woke up early and headed to the park.  The weather was beautiful, the air was crisp and I was happy to see the sun not shining too bright - just the perfect amount of light for photos. I had so much fun snapping picture after picture of her, Adam, their adorable son, Noah, and their lively pups, Sketchy and Rory.

We walked through the crunchy leaves, disregarded the "AREA CLOSED" sign whenever a pretty photo op called our name and said "cheese" for a couple hours.
Adam told me he expected a whole post dedicated to our day - here's a bunch of memories from yesterday.
*Sorry, it's almost a full post, Adam!  :)

The gorgeous family...

LOL!  Steve took this one.

Kim was so sweet to take some photos of Steve, baby girl and I.

22 week bump shots

And after...a date for wings.
Kim and I watched these guys go through almost 50 between the two of them.  I'm gonna guess with how many times they asked "Can we have more blue cheese, please?" that a whole giant tub of that stuff said goodbye.

Steve and I ended our weekend with a trip to Babies R' Us.
I tested some strollers and perfected my mama walk.

 <3

I will say good night now.

It's crazy to think it's Thanksgiving in a couple days.  It's gonna be a special one.  We found our bird over the weekend - at a whole 59 cents a pound - Oh yea!

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving filled with love, relaxation and lots and lots of food.

Be thankful. <3

"It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Old Mr. Webster could never define
What's being said between your heart and mine

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all"

Very beautiful pictures Maria. As the saying goes "A picture is worth a thousand words." All those goodies on plates make me feel so hungry and it is just over an hour since I had breakfast! LOL It is great that everything continues to go well with your pregnancy. This Thanksgiving is going to be so special for you and Steve! Take very good care of yourself and I wish you, Steve, Beano and all your relatives and friends A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

There is something so peaceful, safe & comforting in the picture of the parents walking AWAY holding onto 24 with the dogs... It's breath taking. The last photo... do this in black & white in say 20x24, fram it and put above baby's crib!! Gorgeous. Huggers to you and HAPPY THANSGIVING to you and yours! Tammy

Thank you for your sweet words to me lately.
You did a terrific job on those pictures! The location is beautiful and so is that family. I LOVE the one of Adam squatting on the tree branch with Kim standing behind. LOVE.
Also, the one of STEVE in between them instead of Noah is hilarious.
Finally, Kim did a great job on the pictures of you and Steve and baby girl too. Great great great!!
