A Quick Hello

Just stoppin' in for a quick hello.
I just came home from a day of playing hairdresser, kneading neon playdough and dancing to songs of The Nutcracker with three of my favorite munchkins.
A week into December already?!  I'm more than ready to get the Christmas spirit goin' around here. I think tonight will do the trick - wrapping gifts for those three favorite munchkins I mentioned, a Christmas mug filled with hot chocolate, a cinnamon candle and of course - all while watching cheesy LMN holiday movies.

This past week has flown by and left me with a happy heart and an achin' back.
The rocking chair is complete (as of yesterday).  A good 24 hours have been dedicated to it in the past seven days.  I think I've snuck down to look at it about 8 times since.  Oh, the stories I have to tell about that chair and all the time, love and laughter that went into it.  I'm gonna wait for the reveal.  The nursery will be completed in about 2 months.  And before that reveal, I think I'll devote a whole post to the rocking chair.  It deserves it.

A quick baby update - She's doing great.  Kicking, squirming and dancing up a storm.  I feel her all.the.time.  My mom got to feel her little jabs last week.  She kicks for Steve every night.  And when I wake up in the middle of the night to pee, she's almost always giving me a kick or two to say "Hi, Mom!"  I have a feeling I've got a little vampire (just like her mama) growing in there.
I had a doctor's appointment last Thursday.  Jessica came along with me.   It was a lot of fun to have her join me.
We hit a detour on our way.  And after getting a tad bit lost and driving past a bunch of cows and pretty snow-covered areas, Jessica helped navigate us back to civilization.  I joked my blood pressure would be high after that drive.  And it was.  For the first round.  After a few minutes, the nurse took it again and it was great.  As was baby's heartbeat.  We even got to hear my blood pumping through the umbilical cord.
<3

I'll be back lots this month
 with festive and from-the-heart posts.

For now...

Bits and pieces of the past week...

after hours of sanding, Steve primed away (this is the primer, not paint color)

Muffin loves all the activity that's been going on in the basement.

Jessica and I began the designs last Thursday.  Day 1 of 3 together.

This girl's got talent.  Mega talent.

A quick 23 week bump shot while cleaning

Mr. Chibbs

woke up Saturday morning to hamper Muffin

I made tacos Sunday.

And in between our painting day yesterday, Jessica taught me how to grill chicken.  I'm learning how to cook, people.  I need to.

While putting the finishing touches on the chair, Jessica and I swore we heard water running upstairs.  Laughing it off, we made jokes that Twinkie was probably taking a bath and Muffin was cooking up some pasta.  Nope.  I came upstairs to find half the kitchen floor with a nice ice cold layer of water floating on top of it.  My husband, Tim the toolman Taylor, had installed a water line in our refrigerator last month.  It was the perfect grand finale to our day - a water show in honor of completing the chair.  Thankfully, I went up when I did.  Thankfully, all I had to do was turn off the valve underneath the sink.  And thankfully, Steve is still alive. ;)

24 week bump shots taken appropriately in front of the fridge.

I'll be back after the weekend.

Gettin' festive.

Have a wonderful one, friends. <3

Hi, Maria! I'm so happy to know that everything's been great over there ;D. And may I say you're a genius? 1) Breakfast for dinner? YES! 2) leftovers in the tub? You're my hero! Although I'm afraid that if David ever found me eating in our bathroom while not pregnant, it'd turn into a joke he'd tell to all his friends and family and I don't want that to happen, hahaha :P.

Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs to you, baby girl, Stephen and your adorable kitties! ;D

Tight hugs!

Miki.

I totally cant wait to see the rocker. I also wanted to tell you I think your house is gorgeous. I love your style...right down to the plates for your dinner.

I cant wait to see the nursery and wishing you the best. Enjoy the holiday season. I have a major confession and you are the first online to know. I have yet to do anything for the holidays. I should probably get on it soon. = P
